Soccer Team Falls To Keystone in CSAC Opener

Box Score Baltimore, Md.  --  Keystone College notched two second half goals on their way to defeating Notre Dame of Maryland University in the soccer team's Colonial States Athletic Conference opener.

After facing a 1-0 deficit at the half, Notre Dame answered quickly when sophomore Cristina Barrios-Lopez (Glen Burnie, Md.) tied the score just 3:44 into the second period on a ball from freshman Raeden McCullough (Baltimore, Md./Greater Grace Christian Academy).  However, the Giants responded with two more goals to win the contest 3-1.

Senior Laura Kaufman (Baltimore, Md./Loch Raven) tied Barrios-Lopez for the team's lead in shots.    Senior goalkeeper Heather Lancellotti (Perry Hall, Md.) posted 12 saves on the day, including a stopped penalty kick.

With the loss, Notre Dame falls to 2-3 on the year, 0-1 in the CSAC and will return to action on Monday as they face in-state rival Hood College in a make-up game from earlier this season.  The Gators return to CSAC play on Sunday as they head to Marywood University.
