Field Hockey Falls To CCC

Box Score Baltimore, Md.  --  Notre Dame of Maryland University would score first, but it would not be enough as the Gators fell to Colonial States Athletic Conference rival Cedar Crest College in field hockey action.

Freshman Megan Morales (Joppa, Md./Catholic) would give Notre Dame a 1-0 lead just three minutes into the game when she knocked the ball between the Cedar Crest goalkeeper's legs for her fifth goal of the season.

Junior goalkeeper De'Ja Martin (Salisbury, Md./Wicomico) would notch seven saves while junior Erika Deppenschmidt (Philadelphia, Pa./Philadelphia School for Girls) finished with two defensive saves.

However, the Falcons would soon get hot to end the game with six straight goals to take a 6-1 victory.

The Gators will return to action Wednesday with Sweet Briar College.  Earlier in the season, the Gators would defeat the Vixens 5-4 in overtime.
