Box Score Baltimore, Md.  --  Notre Dame of Maryland University fell to Ferrum College in the field hockey team's home opener Sunday.  

The Gators were led by freshman Megan Morales (Joppa, Md./Catholic) with two shots.  Defensively, junior De'Ja Martin (Salisbury, Md./Wicomico) posted 11 saves while freshman Darby King (Lawton, Okla.) notched two defensive saves, with junior Erika Deppenschmidt (Philadelphia, Pa./Philadelphia School for Girls) also adding a defensive save.  

Ferrum would score two first half goals, then added six more in the second half to take an 8-0 win.  

Notre Dame will now look to regroup before returning to action next Sunday to host Bethany College on Alumnae Field.
