Box Score Baltimore, Md.  --  Notre Dame of Maryland University scored two early goals to take a 2-0 lead just 19 minutes into the game, but it would not be enough as the Gators would fall to Bethany College 5-2 in field hockey action. 

Senior Kelsey Jones (Mountain Top, Pa./Crestwood) scored her third goal of the season, weaving around the Bison defense to find the back of the cage in the seventh minute.  In the 18th minute, freshman Megan Morales (Joppa, Md./Catholic) took the ball around the left side of the visitors defense and scored her third goal this season, giving Notre Dame the 2-0 lead.  

Unfortunately, the two goals would not be enough, as Bethany managed to score two goals to close out the first half, and then added three more in the second half to claim the 5-2 victory. 

Junior goalkeeper De'Ja Martin (Salisbury, Md./Wicomico) finished with a career high 15 saves on the afternoon.  

The field hockey team will return to action on Saturday as they open Colonial States Athletic Conference play by hosting Neumann University.
