Box Score BALTIMORE, Md. - The field hockey team falls to 1-10 on the year after today's 12-0 loss to Gwynedd Mercy.
Before the game, the club honored seniors Erika Deppenschmidt and De'Ja Martin.
Deppenschmidt appeared in 43 games for the Gators and started in 41. Over the last four years, the senior has tallied a club high nine defensive saves and nine points, on two goals and five assists. Deppenschmidt was named to the Colonial States Athletic Conference Sportsmanship team in 2013 and 2015, while also earning Dean's List all four years.
Martin joined the club in 2015 and currently ranks 17th in NCAA Division III and second in the CSAC with 10.5 saves per game. In the last two years, Martin has recorded 256 total saves and this past season, the team voted the senior Most Improved, after notching a club high 141 saves.
Martin had another impressive showing today 17 saves today against the Griffins. Sophomore Kayla Becker had career day with a club high four defensive saves. The Gators combined for four shots on goal in the loss, with freshman Jessica Wells leading the way with three.
Notre Dame visits Immaculata (5-11, 1-3 CSAC) on Wednesday for a matchup at 4 p.m.
