HARRISONBURG, Va. – The soccer team made the trip to Harrisonburg, Va. today to take on Eastern Mennonite University. After a hard fought battle for 90 minutes, the Gators found themselves on the wrong end, as the Royals took home the 1-0 victory.  

The lone goal came just six minutes into the action, as a through ball up the middle left Eastern Mennonite's Laura Rittenhouse all alone to net the eventual game winner. 

Sophomore Meghan Conner tallied four shots on goal, while senior Brittany Smith and sophomore Jessie Lindenkohl recorded one. Sophomore Lilly Gordon made eight saves in the loss.

The Gators open Colonial States Athletic Conference action on Saturday, when the club hosts Centenary University (1-3) at Alumnae Field. Match time is 1 p.m.
