HARRISONBURG, Va. – Field hockey made the journey to Eastern Mennonite University today. The Gators' attempt to step back into the win column was shut down early on in the 9-1 loss to the Royals.

Trailing 5-0, freshman Jessica Wells netted a goal in the 31st minute to bring Notre Dame to within four just before the half. Wells secured the loose ball in front of a crowded net and beat the goalie for her second goal on the year, unassisted.
