BALTIMORE, Md. – The NDMU field hockey team drops to 1-1 on the year, following today's 7-0 loss to Hood College.

The Blazers outshot the Gators 18-1 in the tilt. Hood took control of the game early, as the Blazers netted three goals in the first 20 minutes of action. The Gators pressed on but a pair of goals before the half gave the Blazers a commanding 5-0 lead.

Hood capped off the win with a pair of goals in the second half to improve to 1-1 on the year. Senior Erika Deppenschmidt earned a pair of defensive saves in the loss, while sophomore Megan Morales recorded the only shot on goal for the Gators.

The field hockey team has some time off to rest up before its next game on September 15, when the club welcomes Wilson College to Alumnae Field. The match is set to begin at 4:30 p.m.
