Box Score BALTIMORE, Md. – The Notre Dame of Maryland soccer team dropped to 1-1 on the season after falling 2-0 to Goucher College tonight.
Despite the loss, sophomore Lilly Gordon had an impressive showing with fourteen saves. NDMU held Goucher scoreless through 40 minutes but the Gophers were able to sneak one past the defense and head into halftime with the lead.
NDMU had an opportunity to even the score to start the second half but sophomore Meghan Connor's shot went just wide of the net.
Shortly after the miss, Goucher extended its lead to 2-0. Gordon made the initial save but Goucher's Samantha Turner was able to collect the rebound and find the back of the net.
Conner had another good look at goal in the 64th minute but was unable to make the Gophers' defense pay as the sophomore's shot soared high.
The Gators travel to Harrisonburg, Va. on Saturday to take on Eastern Mennonite University (1-1-1). Match time is set for 4 p.m.
