Box Score BALTIMORE, Md. -- The Notre Dame Gators hosted the Gwynedd Mercy Griffins for Colonial States Conference soccer action Tuesday afternoon.
The heat provided a sluggish start for both sides but the Griffins got on the board with a top shelf shot from outside the box. The NDMU defense stood strong in the first half until a rebounded ball from Gator stop lead to another Griffin goal. They added three more before the end of the half.
On offense, the Gators had a few scoring chances after two great sideline runs by
Morghan McQuaige.
Raeden McCullough and
Meghan Conner added some offensive pressure for Notre Dame but the Gators couldn't find the back of the net.
The Gators defense stood strong in the second half not allowing a goal on 10 shots behind
Loren Pardoe. Pardoe finished the game with 20 saves, her third consecutive game with 20 or more saves. Notre Dame added an excellent long strike by
Lilly Gordon in the second half. A Griffin save kept the Gators off the score board.
The Gators will stay home this weekend to face Marywood on Saturday afternoon at 1 p.m. as they celebrate their Gator Rally and Senior Day.
