HACKETTSTOWN, N.J.--
The Notre Dame Gators traveled to Centenary University on Saturday for a 1pm start.
Despite the long trip, the Gators came out to fiery start. From front to back Notre Dame kept pace with the first place Cyclones. At the top Senior Meghan Connor and Sophomore Mikki Silverio added pressure on offense for the midfield to work the ball.
Defensively Senior Lily Gordon and Junior Hannah Woodworth held Centenary out of the net until a foul was called in the 18-yard box and the Cyclones capitalized on the penalty.
With the momentum now in their favor Centenary added four more first half goals.
After the halftime break, the Gators had another great start but Centenary found the net twice early in the second half. Notre Dame Junior goalkeeper Loren Pardoe had a chance for redemption on another penalty shot and she stepped up with a diving save.
The Cyclones added three more goals (one on yet another penalty kick). Contrary to the final ten to nil score Pardoe had a few extraordinary saves.
In the midfield Freshmen Haley Cook and Kayla Grube provided a bright spot for the Gators with their hard work and determination.
WHATS NEXT?
The Gators will have off until Wednesday when they host Rosemont for their final home game of the season at 4pm.
