BALTIMORE, Md. – The Notre Dame volleyball team recorded two solid wins today, the first over Colonial States Athletic Conference opponent Cedar Crest College and the second against Christendom College in their second meeting of the season.
Notre Dame vs. Cedar Crest
The Gators needed a fifth set to secure their sixth CSAC win of the season, defeating the Falcons, 3-2. Notre Dame took the first and third sets before securing the final set, 15-11.
In the match, the Gators posted 56 kills, their fourth highest kill mark this season. Junior
Kayleigh Davis led the team with 18 kills, tying a season high, while sophomore
Michaila Sheedy also posted a season high with 13 kills.
Freshman
Alyssa Kerns and senior
Ricelle Taganas combined for 18 kills.
From the service line, the Gators finished with 13 aces. Taganas and Sheedy paced the team with three aces apiece, while Davis, freshman
Emma Jordan, and junior
Sara Few each posted two each.
On the defensive end, Notre Dame had a standout match, posting 83 digs – their second best performance this season. Junior
Mary Marquez led the team with 30 digs, while Davis finished with 16 and Taganas had 12.
Sheedy and Kerns both tallied two solo blocks, while the team finished with seven.
Notre Dame vs. Christendom
In their second meeting of the season, the Gators downed the Crusaders in straight sets, 3-0.
The team recorded 43 kills, hitting for .211.
Kerns and Davis again recorded double figure kills, with Kerns posting 15 and Davis with 14.
Kerns hit for .423, her 11
th game this season hitting over .400.
From the service line, the Gators had four player post two aces.
Defensively, Kerns and Sheedy again matched with three solo blocks each.
The Gators tallied 62 digs against the Crusaders. Marquez led with 17 digs followed by Few with 14.
Over the two matches, Few posted 77 assists.

The Gators have two CSAC opponents remaining in the regular season. First on Wednesday, they will host Bryn Athyn College and then travel to Cairn University Saturday.
