BALTIMORE, Md. – The Notre Dame volleyball posted their third consecutive win tonight, defeating Washington Adventist University in straight sets. In their second meeting of the season, the Gators went 3-0 to move to 17-4 overall this season.
Freshman
Alyssa Kerns led the team in kills, posting eight for her third time this season. She hit .429 only tallying two errors on 14 attempts. She also recorded one solo block and one assist.
In her best hitting performance this season, junior
Kayleigh Davis hit .833 with five kills on six attempts. She also was one of three players to record four aces in the match.
Sophomore
Sarah Sweet and
Anna Gamble combined for 12 kills, while sophomore
Michaila Sheedy added five. Sweet also recorded four aces.
On defense, Davis and senior
Ricelle Taganas led the team with seven digs, while freshman
Emma Jordan and junior
Mary Marquez combined for eight.
From the service line, the Gators posted 20 aces by seven different players. Jordan tied her career high, also finishing the match with four aces. This is the team's second match this season recording 20 or more aces in a match. To start the season, they posted 36 against Trinity Washington University.
