BALTIMORE, Md. – The Notre Dame volleyball team are the 2018 Colonial States Athletic Conference Champions. In the first time in Notre Dame history, the Gators have earned a CSAC Championship. The volleyball program is the first team to play in a CSAC Championship game.
The Gators took the 3-0 victory over the second seed Keystone College Giants.
At the conclusion of the match, junior libero
Mary Marquez was named the CSAC Championship MVP.
Notre Dame took a commanding lead in the first set and didn't let up: 25- 19, 25-20, 25-18.
Freshman
Alyssa Kerns was the Notre Dame kill leader, posting 12 kills. Sophomores
Sarah Sweet and
Michaila Sheedy both recorded nine kills in the win.
The Gators were dominate from the service line, posting 16 aces against the Giants. This is their 19
th time recording 10 or more aces in a match. They currently sit in second in the NCAA for aces per set.
Marquez led the team with seven aces, followed by freshman
Emma Jordan with four.
On the defensive end, junior
Kayleigh Davis led with 12 digs followed by Marquez with 10.
Junior
Sara Few paced the team racking up 25 assists.

The Gators earn an automatic bid to the NCAA Championship. They will find out their selection Monday at noon.
