BALTIMORE, Md. -- Notre Dame volleyball opened their 2018 season at home today against Trinity Washington University. In the one-sided match, the Gators came out on top of the Tigers, 3-0, holding Trinity to only nine points in the match.

Sarah Sweet and junior
Kayleigh Davis led the Gators at the net posting a combined 12 kills.
Sweet went 8-for-9 from the outside for an impressive .889 hitting percentage.She also racked up 12 service aces over three sets, one ace shy of a Notre Dame record. She slashed her personal aces record set last season, nine aces against Trinity at the conclusion of the regular season.

Mary Marquez and sophomore
Hannah Amodia combined for 15 aces; the team finished with 36.
With not much offense from the Tigers, the Gators only tallied nine digs and two blocks. Marquez led the team with four digs, while sophomore

The Gators will have a busy weekend as they travel to Lincoln University for a trimatch versus the Lions and the Gwynedd Mercy University Griffins. Last season, the Gators faced GMU in Colonial States Athletic Conference play, defeating them in straight sets.
