BALTIMORE, Md. – Notre Dame volleyball continued their Colonial States Athletic Conference play today as they hosted Rosemont College. The Gators posted their ninth straight-sets wins besting the Ravens, 25-15, 25-11, and 25-11.
Notre Dame had five players hit above .300 against Rosemont. Freshman
Alyssa Kerns paced the team with a .636 hitting percentage with seven kills on 11 attempts.
Leading the team in kills,
Sarah Sweet tallied 15 kills on 26 attempts and only two errors. Sweet also led the team in aces, racking up 11 against the Ravens. This is her second best serving performance this season. She posted 12 against Trinity Washington to open the season.
Sophomore
Michaila Sheedy also hit .500 against Rosemont, posting eight kills.
Senior
Ricelle Taganas led the team with 18 assist and also posted four kills. Junior
Sara Few also had 16 assists, while posting one of the team's 17 service aces.
The Gators have 11 games this season where they have double-figure team aces. They lead the CSAC with 190 aces this year and average 3.88 per set.
Junior
Kayleigh Davis picked up three aces against the Ravens.
On the defensive end, the team finished with 27 digs, led by Taganas with seven and Few with four.
Sheedy had a strong night at the net, posting five solo blocks and one assist.
WHAT'S NEXT?
The Gators will travel to Penn State Mont Alto tomorrow in their second meeting of the season. They will then come home Saturday to host Clarks Summit University for CSAC action.
