Soccer Scores 4-1 Win Over Sweet Briar

SWEET BRIAR, Va. – Notre Dame soccer traveled to Sweet Briar College for a non-conference matchup Sunday afternoon.  In their second game in two days, the Gators tallied their fifth win of the season, 4-1.

The Gators posted 10 unanswered shots to open the game against Sweet Briar.  On their 11th shot of the game in the 19th minute, senior Meghan Conner score the team's first goal from 20 yards out.

Conner leads the Gators in goals this season with nine.  She is currently ranked second in the CSAC in points and goals per game.

Two minutes later, junior Loren Pardoe scored her second career goal, assisted by Conner. 

In the second half, Sweet Briar held Notre Dame scoreless until freshman Kayla Grube notched her first career goals.  Grube scored back-to-back goals for the Gators in the 80th and 87th minutes. 

In the next possession, the Vixen scored their lone goal of the game.

Notre Dame recorded 54 shots against Sweet Briar, 26 shots on goal.  They lead the conference in shots this season with 11.71 shots on goal per game.

Notre Dame moves to 5-2 overall this season with a win over Sweet Briar.

On Thursday, the Gators travel to Cairn University for conference play.
