BALTIMORE, Md. – On Saturday afternoon, the Gators hosted Keystone College in a rematch from the 2018 Colonial States Athletic Conference Championship. The Gators and Giants battled until the end, but NDMU fell short, 2-3 (25-13, 25-27, 22-25, 25-18, 11-15.)
Both junior
Michaila Sheedy and sophomore
Alyssa Kerns had career games against the Giants each posting career-highs. Kerns was the match leader in kills posting 24. She also hit for an impressive .440 with only two attack errors.
Sheedy also tallied a career-high, with 15 kills. Senior
Kayleigh Davis posted a double-double against the Giants, finishing the match with 12 kills and 18 digs.
In the five-set match, the Gators tallied a season-high 64 kills, with nine players posting kills in the match.
Senior
Sara Few posted a career-high 50 assists, while also adding three aces and 13 digs.
Defensively, NDMU posted six blocks, led by Kerns and Sheedy. The Gators also had their second-high dig performance of the year, posting 87 for the match. Five players were in double-figures for digs, led by freshman
Ivanella Figueroa. Davis, senior
Mary Marquez, Few, and sophomore
Angel Carino each posted 12 or more digs.
WHAT'S NEXT?
The Gators will face two CSAC opponents next week, first traveling to Rosemont College on Wednesday. On Saturday, the will host Cedar Crest College who is currently undefeated in CSAC play.
