MIDDLETOWN, Pa. – The Notre Dame basketball team is in the win column after defeating Penn State – Harrisburg Monday night. The Gators were on the road in their second game of the season and came out with a 78-61 victory over the Nittany Lions.
Freshman
Ariana Alleyne led the Gators in scoring, posting a career-high, 24 points. Nine of her 24 points came from the free throw line, while posting the Gators' first three-pointer of the season. Alleyne also finished the game with five rebounds, three steals, three assists, and two blocks.
Sophomore
Daija Fitchett finished the win just a rebound shy of a double-double. She posted 14 points and nine rebounds, going 7-for-11 from the floor. She also added three steals, two assists and a block.
Scoring her first career double-double, freshman
Ayana Brim tallied 13 points and 10 boards. She also went 6-for-10 from the floor and posted an assist and steal.
Defensively, the Gators posted 16 team steals, four blocks and 38 rebounds. Junior
Keyeria Dawson also posted nine rebounds, while junior
Adrianna Fletcher added seven. Freshman
Jaylah Lewis paced the team with five steals, also finishing the game with 10 points.
Dawson went 4-for-5 from the floor, while also posting three assists and two steals.
WHAT'S NEXT?
The Gators will have one day off from competition before returning to action on Wednesday. They host Washington College (Md.) for their home opener at 7:00 p.m.
