Gators Scores Big Win Over Valley Forge

BALTIMORE, Md. – The Gators are back to .500 tonight after defeating University of Valley Forge Friday night.  After an even first quarter, the Gators pulled away in the second and didn't look back.  They eventually downed the Patriots, 89-74. 
 
The Gators were led in scoring by sophomore Daija Fitchett, with a career-high 25 points.  Fitchett went 10-for-15 from the floor, adding six assists.  Defensively, she posted four blocks and two steals, while also adding eight rebounds.
 
Junior Keyeria Dawson and freshman Ayana Brim both finished the game with 13 points.  Brim tied a career-high, while going 5-for-7 from the floor.  Dawson was hot from the three-point line, going 3-for-5 from beyond the arc.  She also added a team-high eight rebounds. 
 
Both posting double-figures against the Patriots, freshman Jaylah Lewis and junior Adrianna Fletcher combined for 20 points.  Lewis also led the team in rebounds with eight rebounds, while both finished with two assists.  Fletcher down two field goals from three-point range, with Lewis adding two steals.
 
Leading the team in assists, Ariana Alleyne tallied a career-high, eight assists.  The team finished the game with 23.  Alleyne also tallied eight points in the win, with two steals.
 
WHAT'S NEXT?
Despite the Thanksgiving holiday next week, the Gators will have a busy week at home.  On Tuesday, they host local opponent Goucher College and on Saturday will open their Colonial States Athletic Conference schedule, hosting Cedar Crest College.
