ROSEMONT, Pa. – Notre Dame lacrosse was on the road today in their first Colonial States Athletic Conference game of the season versus Rosemont College. The Gators were scheduled to open their CSAC schedule last Saturday against Centenary University, but inclement weather pushed the game to a later date.
Notre Dame scored a commanding victory over Rosemont, advancing to 3-2 overall this season and 1-0 in conference. The Gators notched a 20-1 victory, with nine different players contributing in the win.
Seniors
Megan Morales and
Kirstin McGee paced the team, finishing the game with five goals apiece. McGee also added five assists in the win to add on to her league-leading, 2.75 assist per game, while Morales tallied two. After today's game, Morales and McGee are first and second in the CSAC in goals, points, and draw controls per game. They combined for 16 of the team's 20 draw controls.
Freshman
Julie Hagis finished right behind them with four goals, while adding one assists. Six different players finished with one goal, aiding in the victory.
Defensively, the Gators tallied nine caused turnovers, led by sophomore
Marie Salas with three. In goal, she posted three saves.
