Baltimore, Md. — The Gators played host to Colonial States Athletic Conference opponent Cedar Crest College on a beautiful Saturday afternoon. In their first home conference game the season the Gators jumped to an early lead scoring in the 27th second. Several Gators tallied goals in the early minutes as Notre Dame had an 8-0 lead with 15 minutes to go in the first half.
Senior Peace Ani scored her 2nd goal of the season and in the 8th minute of the first half junior Jessica Wells also scored her 2nd goal of the year and the 10th goal of the game for the Gators. Senior Megan Morales notched a hatrick to put the Gators ahead 12-0. That score would hold for the half. Morales scored four more goals to start the second half. Senior Kirstin McGee led the team with an impressive six assists she also had one goal on the day. Mid-way through the second half Cedar Crest scored to get on the board, despite the impressive effort by sophomore goalie Calenna Cauley.
Freshman Stephanie Morgan and junior Loren Pardoe aided in the offense effort with goals of their own. On her 7th goal of the day Morals also tallied her 40th goal of the season, that goal put the Gators ahead 18-1. Freshman Julie Hagis scored her 6th goal of the day of the game to finish the scoring for the Gators. With one minute left the Falcons added one last goal to finish the game at 19-2.
WHAT'S NEXT? The Gators head to Bryn Athyn to face the Lions on Tuesday afternoon. They then will play next Saturday at Keystone College for more CSAC action.
