BRYN ATHYN, Pa. – Notre Dame lacrosse was on the road Tuesday afternoon in their first Colonial States Athletic Conference match up of the week. Facing the Bryn Athyn Lions, the Gators battled tough, but would eventually fall, 11-13.
Notre Dame got off to a slow start, giving up four goals in the opening six minutes of play. The Gators got on the board, when freshman
Katie Hawkins scored off a pass from freshman
Julie Hagis.
After another score by the Lions, Notre Dame went back-to-back on free-postion shots from senior
Megan Morales and junior
Loren Pardoe. At the halfway point of the first half, the Gators were down two, 3-5.
To close out the second half, Bryn Athyn outscored Notre Dame 4-2. The Gators went into the break, down 5-9.
In the second half, NDMU outscored Bryn Athyn 6-4, but it wasn't enough to overcome their first-half deficit.
Morales, senior
Kirstin McGee and Pardoe each recorded a hat trick in the game, accounting for nine of the team's 11 goals. Hagis and Hawkins added one goal apiece, while McGee and Hagis had the team's only assists.
Morales and McGee combined for 16 of the team's 19 draw controls.
On the defensive end, Hawkins lead the team with three caused turnovers, while sophomore
