McGee Scores 100th Career Goal in 18-0 Victory Over Centenary

BALTIMORE, Md. – The Notre Dame lacrosse team scored a commanding 18-0 victory today over Colonial States Athletic Conference opponent Centenary University. In their second meeting in less than a week, the Gators notched their fourth-consecutive win and first shutout of the season.

Senior Kirstin McGee lead the Gators to victory, leading the team with seven goals and three assists.  In the 11th minute of the first half, McGee scored her 36th goal of the season to give her 100 goals for her career.  Her 10 points today also pushed her to the 200th career point mark needing nine prior to today's game. 

McGee is now fourth in the CSAC in goals per game and first in assists and second in points.  Prior to today's game she ranked 28th in the NCAA for assists per game and 21st in points.

Fellow senior, Megan Morales followed suit, finishing the game with four goals, while adding four draw controls and two caused turnovers.  She continues to lead the CSAC and the NCAA with goals per game.

Junior Loren Pardoe and freshmen Julie Hagis and Vanessa Dunn added two goals apiece while freshman Stephanie Morgan finished with one. 

Pardoe recorded a career high, finishing the game against the Lions with six draw controls.  McGee added three draw controls, while the team finished with 16.

In the combined shutout, sophomore goalies Marie Salas and Calenna Cauley finished with five saves.

The Gators have secured a spot in the CSAC postseason with two games remaining.  They have not recorded over 200 goals and 50 assists for the season.  They lead the CSAC in win-margin at 8.8 and draw controls at 194.  The currently sit in first in the CSAC in goals per game and points per game.

WHAT'S NEXT?
Notre Dame will honor seniors Peace Ani, Kayla Becker, Kirstin McGee and Megan Morales on Saturday prior to the start of their home game against Keystone College.  Due to inclement weather scheduled for Friday, their game has been moved to Friends School at noon.
