BALTIMORE, Md. – The Gators suffered a tough loss at home on Tuesday night against Gallaudet University. After taking a two-set lead over the Bison, the Gators dropped the final three frames, falling 2-3 (25-18, 25-14, 17-25, 22-25, 8-15)
Hitting a career-high, junior
Michaila Sheedy posted a match-leading 14 kills. She also hit for an impressive .423, her four game this season hitting above .400. Senior
Kayleigh Davis and sophomore
Alyssa Kerns combined for 14 kills.
From the service line, senior
Sara Few led the team with four aces, while the team finished with 10. Few also paced the offense with 26 assists.
Defensively, Sheedy and Kerns led the team in blocking. Sheedy finished the night with three solo and three assisted blocks, while Kerns added two solos and one assist. Freshman
Ivanella Figueroa and seniors
Mary Marquez and Davis each post double digit digs, with Figueroa leading the team with 21.
WHAT'S NEXT?
The team will have a short turn around and will be back on the road Thursday at St. Mary's for a 7:30 p.m. start time.
