Bryn Athyn, Pa. – The Gators traveled to Pennsylvania this Saturday evening to face off against conference opponent, Bryn Athyn College. Notre Dame found themselves in a tight game at the half, down 24-30. During the second half, the Gators separated themselves and cruised on to dominate 79-62, securing their sixth conference win of the season.
Sophomore
Jasimine Gardner posted a career high in points earning 14 total. She also finished the game with six rebounds. These together provided the spark that eventually led to the victory in the second half.
Freshman
Ariana Alleyne led the team in points tallying 15 for the Gators. She also led the team in steals, with four, and posted nine assists.
Sophomore
Daija Fitchett finished the game with the teams only double-double earning 13 points and picking up 10 rebounds, which puts her at 148 for the season. Fitchett currently leads the CSAC in rebounds. This is her sixth double-double this season.
Additionally, freshman
Ayana Brim ended the game with 10 points and six rebounds. She now totals 104 rebounds for the season.
The team displayed mental toughness as they overcame a tough first half, and finished strong with 79-62 victory, which advances the Gators to 6-1 in the Colonial States Athletic Conference; with an overall record of 9-4.
WHAT'S NEXT?
The Notre Dame Gators hit the road next week to take on Keystone College on Wednesday night at 6:00 p.m. The Gators will then return home on Saturday at 1:00pm, facing another conference opponent, Centenary University.
