BALTIMORE, Md. – The Notre Dame Gators played at home Friday night in a heated Colonial States Athletic Conference win over the Cyclones. In a solid opening the Gators doubled the Cyclone's score at the end of the first quarter. Centenary made an impressive recovery and ended the half only down by one basket. The Cyclones kept the score close for the rest of the game and even had a chance to win shooting free throws with only five seconds left in the game. The Gators held strong earning possession in the last three seconds winning the game by a single point, 52-51. A strong defensive finish for the Gators advances them to 10-5 overall and 7-2 in the CSAC.
The team was led in points by junior
Keyeria Dawson who had a season high of 15. Sophomore
Stephania Long was the second leading scorer making nine. Three of those points came from the free throw line where she shot three-for-three.

Daija Fitchett posted a strong defensive game and led the team in rebounds with 14 total, 11 of them being on the defensive end. Fitchett is tallying 21 rebounds for the week. She also had an impressive six blocks.
WHAT'S NEXT?
The Gators have a week off from games and pick up their conference play on Saturday, January 25
th 2020. They will be traveling to Cedar Crest playing in the early afternoon at 2 p.m. The Cedar Crest Falcons are currently 3-12 overall and 2-6 in the CSAC.
