BALTIMORE, Md. – While celebrating the Colonial States Athletic Conference's Sportsmanship week, the Gators posted a victory Wednesday night over Wilson. The Gators started off slow and found themselves in a five point game at the half. Notre Dame rallied together at halftime and pushed the tempo in the third, eventually taking the win 72-50. They tallied 42 points from inside the paint and 15 points came from turnovers.
Two players posted double-doubles this game, including freshman
Ayana Brim and Sophomore
Daija Fitchett. Brim posted an incredible 25 points against Wilson and tallied 10 rebounds. Meanwhile, Fitchett scored a solid 12 points and ended with 19 rebounds. The dynamic duo continue to impress and worked hard within the paint totaling 37 points between the two of them.
Freshmen
Jaylah Lewis and
Ariana Alleyne also posted double-digits with Lewis scoring 12 and Alleyne scoring 10. Lewis also went 3-for-4 in free throws and recorded four assists. Additionally, Alleyne recorded five assists and three steals.
The Gators are now 12-5 overall and 9-2 in the CSAC.
WHAT'S NEXT?
The NDMU basketball team will finish their CSAC sportsmanship week by traveling to Clarks Summit University on Saturday, with a start time at 1 p.m. They will then play again at home on Monday night, facing Christendom at 7:30 p.m.
