CLARKS SUMMIT, Pa. – The Notre Dame Gators traveled to Pennsylvania on Saturday afternoon to play a Colonial States Athletic Conference game against Clarks Summit University. This is the second time that the Gators have played the Defenders this season; the Gators won by one point the last time they competed. The Gators fought through another tough start to end the first half down by three points. NDMU pushed through, but could not match the physicality of Clarks Summit. The Defenders defended home court, defeating the Gators 95-81.
Despite the loss, the Gators broke many barriers in the game against the Defenders. Freshman
Ayana Brim led the team in points with a career high of 27. Freshman
Jaylah Lewis also posted a career high of 19 points. She additionally shot an impressive four-for-four in free throws and posted four total steals for the Gators. Sophomore
Daija Fitchett gains another double-double on the season posting a game leading 13 rebounds along with her 20 points.
The Gators are now 12-6 overall and 9-3 in the CSAC.
WHAT'S NEXT?
The Gators will host a non-conference match against Christendom, Monday night at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, February 5
th, the team will travel to Rosemont in another CSAC game at 7:00 p.m. The Gators will then host their second game of the week against CSAC team, Cairn, starting at 1:00 p.m.
