BALTIMORE, Md. – The Gators took on their sixth Colonial States Athletic Conference game this season against the College of St. Elizabeth Thursday night. Facing a tough game against the undefeated Eagles, both Notre Dame and St. Elizabeth came into the game 5-0 CSAC. A slow start from the beginning ended with the Eagles winning, 57-48.
Although the Gators lost, they finished the game with one double-double from freshman
Ayana Brim. She finished with 11 points and 11 rebounds, tallying her fifth double-double of the season.
Sophomore
Daija Fitchett led the team in rebounds with 12 total and had three blocks. She now leads the team in blocks totaling 21 for the season.
Freshman
Ariana Alleyne and junior
Adrianna Fletcher both totaled nine points each with Alleyne leading the team with four assists. In addition, Fletcher finished with five steals, while also going 3-for-7 on the floor.
After a tough fought second quarter the Gators came back from a 12-point deficit to finish at the half 28-34. The Gators continued to chip away well into the second half and even outscoring the Eagles in the last quarter. Their comeback came up short in the final two minutes, falling to the Eagles 57-48.
The Gators fall to 8-4 overall and 5-1, falling to third in the CSAC. St. Elizabeth snaps Notre Dame's six game win streak, while also giving the team's first conference loss since February 18, 2019 in the playoff's against Wilson.
WHAT'S NEXT?
NDMU builds on their conference week by traveling to Bryn Athyn on Saturday for a night game at 7 p.m. This will be their seventh conference game overall and will continue to progress in their conference play well into next week.
