Game Recap: Women's Basketball | | Abby Carls

Week 11: Gators On a Roll, 3-0

BALTIMORE, Md. – On Saturday, the Gators hosted a Colonial States Athletics Conference game against Cairn University. The highlanders kept up with the pace of play throughout most of the first half and was only down by four at the half. However, the Notre Dame Gators held strong throughout the second half and came out on top winning against the highlanders, 59-49. 
 
Freshman Ayana Brim led the Gators in points again for the second consecutive game tallying 26 points, which was a single point shy of her career high. This week alone she has posted an incredible 67 points for the Gators. She is currently #7 in the CSAC for points averaging 15.5 points per game. 
 
Sophomore Daija Fitchett posted a double-double for the game with 11 leading rebounds and 13 total points, making her the second leading scorer of the game. She is currently still ranked #1 in the CSAC for rebounds. She also recorded four steals for the Gators 
 
Freshman Ariana Alleyne received double digit points as well, scoring 10; she had three assists, and three steals. Freshman Jaylah Lewis also recorded six steals and five assists.  
 
This week the Gators advance to 15-6 overall and 11-3 in the CSAC. 
 
WHAT'S NEXT?
The Gators will come from a winning week to travel to their next game on Wednesday, February 12th to compete against #2 in the CSAC, College of St. Elizabeth. The game will be at night starting at 7:00 p.m. They will then host Bryn Athyn the following Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
