ROSEMONT, Pa. -- The Colonial States Athletic Conference Announced today the All-Sportsmanship Team for the 2020 spring season. With support from the directors of athletics at its member institutions, it was decided that every senior in the CSAC would be given this honor for the 2020 spring season totaling 176 throughout the conference.
For every CSAC team, the single student-athlete who "best embodies the characteristics of sportsmanship and respect" is traditionally awarded the recognition of being on the CSAC All-Sportsmanship Team. Due to the suspension of the 2020 spring sports season, the athletic directors felt that this admirable distinction would be the most appropriate for all seniors regarding the circumstances.
The eight seniors that were awarded this recognition for Notre Dame of Maryland University include: Isa Carunungan of the softball team; Nnenne Odukwu of the tennis team; Adamary Sanchez- Martinez, Jeannette Rosales-Blanco, and Keira Mull of the outdoor track team; and finally Jessica Wells, Hannah Woodworth, and Loren Pardoe of the lacrosse team.
Three of the four sports at Notre Dame including softball, tennis, and track, were unable to complete this past season because of the COVID-19 Pandemic. Lacrosse was the only sport that was able to participate in three regular season games, starting the season with momentum from a CSAC Championship the year prior in 2019. For the majority of the senior student-athletes this 2020 spring season would be the last opportunity to compete. Despite the unfortunate situation, these senior student-athletes had fantastic seasons previously and are honored today by being a part of the 2020 CSAC Sportsmanship Team.
