BALTIMORE – Notre Dame of Maryland volleyball team visited Allentown, Pennsylvania on Wednesday evening for a rematch of the 2019 CSAC Volleyball Championship match against Cedar Crest (12-5, 5-0 CSAC). The Gators went four sets with the Falcons but fell 3-1 (16-25, 11-25, 25-16, 18-25). With the loss, Notre Dame falls to 4-1 in conference play.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Gators got off to a slow start, dropping the first two sets 25-16, 25-11.
- For Notre Dame, it was Anna Gamble and Miasia Ferrer that provided the early offense for the Gators attack. Ferrer finished with a career-best six kills. Gamble finished with five kills.
- In the third set, Gabbi Taganas and Emma Mueller led the Gators to a 25-16 set win. Taganas finished with 10 kills. She's had 10 or more kills in three straight matches.
- Mueller led the Gators with 18 assists and added five kills. Natalie Newton contributed 13 assists and 12 digs.
- Paulina Hernandez led the defense with 27 digs. She had 26 in the win against Gwynedd Mercy on Sept. 25.
OF NOTE
- Newton continues her streak of having 12 or more assists to six consecutive games.
- Angel Carino added 17 digs. The senior has 260 on the season.
- With the loss, the Gators will maintain its 10-6 all-time lead over the Falcons.
