Scrappy Play from the Gators not Enough Against Cedar Crest

BALTIMORE – Notre Dame of Maryland University's soccer team hosted the CSAC standings leader Cedar Crest College (10-1-1, 5-1 CSAC) on Saturday afternoon and hung tight throughout the match with the conference leaders before falling 2-0. The Gators will drop to 2-4 in conference play and 3-7 overall. 

  
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Notre Dame (Md.) defense was disruptive all afternoon. Jamie Norris made three saves on five chances from the Falcons. 
  • Averee Radonovich made a defensive save to stop Cedar Crest from scoring on the following offensive attack. Cedar Crest went on to score with 17 minutes left in the first half. 
  • With the Falcons up 1-0 in the second, the Gators defense made multiple stops to regain momentum for the Notre Dame side. 
  • With over 75 minutes of play, Emma Alasica gave the Gators their best chance on the afternoon. Alasica shot would miss the top post by a few inches. 
  • Sara Morales got a look at goal on a freekick moments later but the Falcons keeper made the save. Cedar Crest was able to put the game away on a late score.
 
OF NOTE
  • Jamie Norris had 13 saves and was reliable in goal for the Gators all game.
  • The Gators lost the battle for shots 26-2.
  • With the loss, Notre Dame moves to 6-7 all-time when facing Cedar Crest College
