The Gators went up against a relentless Lions squad that was able to steal the first set and force the Gators to a 26-24 finish in the final set. With the win, Notre Dame improves to 6-1 in the CSAC and 11-10 overall.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The Gators got off to a slow start in the first down 7-4 early on. Paulina Hernandez, Ciarra Bockstie, and Miasia Ferrer got blocks that allowed the Gators to cut into the Lions lead.

  • In the second set, Ferrer jump started the Gators at the net with two kills to take a 6-4 lead. After a momentum-shifting kill from Bockstie to go up 7-4, it was all Notre Dame from then on. Mueller had six service aces and Candace Forgach-Aguilar came in to clean up with the set point on an ace.
  • The Gators attack would carry over into the third set. Notre Dame as a unit combined for seven service aces.
  • Stephanie Morgan, Jade Stewart, and Angel Carino were excellent on the defensive receiving end for the Gators. The trio finished with 12, 11, and 10 digs respectively.
  • Natalie Newton, Gabbi Taganas and Erin Shaw delivered huge kills in the fourth to give Notre Dame a 3-1 win.
