BALTIMORE – Notre Dame of Maryland University volleyball team got back into the win column with a 3-0 (25-10, 25-8, 25-12) sweep at Valley Forge on Saturday afternoon. The Gators will move to 7-1 in league play and 12-11 overall. 

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Natalie Newton got the Gators offensive attack rolling with three early service aces to get the Gators up 6-0. Notre Dame found the floor early and often and got off to a 15-0 lead in the first. The Gators would close out the set on kills from Ciarra Bockstie, Jade Stewart, Emma Mueller, and Gabbi Taganas. 
• The second set was much of the same for the Notre Dame attack. Bockstie came out and dominated at the meet. She had six kills and joined Mueller on a huge block to help the Gators pull away 7-5. NDMU won the set 25-8 and Bockstie finished with a game-high 11 kills.
• Notre Dame tallied 15 service aces with Newton leading the way with six. Mueller and Stephanie Morgan each had three. 
• Mueller was effective on the receiving end and finished with nine digs. Angel Carino also had nine digs to lead the defense
• Newton led the Gators with 17 assists. Mueller was second with five.
• After getting off to a slow start in the third set, Bockstie and the Gators offense went on a 8-0 run to seal the match.

OF NOTE

• Bockstie leads the CSAC with 44 total blocks. 
• Defensive specialists Carino and Paulina Hernandez are both Top-3 in the conference for digs. Stewart ranks fifth in the CSAC.
• Notre Dame is now 10-0 all-time against Valley Forge.
