Gators Get 2-0 Win to Keep CSAC Playoffs Hopes Alive

BALTIMORE – Notre Dame of Maryland University's soccer team celebrated five seniors as both Kayla Grube and Andriena Franco-Ramos scored in glamorous fashion. The pair of seniors were horned along with Chelsea Llivichuzca, Cesia Diaz, and Cecia Zavala-Ramos as the Gators defeated Rosemont (5-9, 4-3 CSAC). Notre Dame (Md.) will improve to 4-4 in the CSAC and 5-7 overall.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Notre Dame (Md.) defense was tested early. With his back up against the wall, Jamie Norris came up huge as NDMU's only line of defense on an early Rosemont chance that came 12 minutes into the game.
  • Later in the half, the Gators took full advantage of their first shot opportunity. Emma Alascia showed off her passing skills with a cross into the box for Franco-Ramos' third score of the season.
  • The Gators accumulated just two chances but took a 1-0 lead into the half.
  • In the second half, Norris continued his strong play in goal and ended the day with four saves.
  • With only 17 minutes left in regulation, Roselynn Kamara found Grube in the middle of the box. The striker repositioned her body and got the ball on her left foot to give the Gators a two-score lead.

  • Notre Dame earns its second-ever victory against the Ravens
  • Norris claims his second straight clean sheet and third of his career in only seven starts.
