BALTIMORE – Notre Dame of Maryland University's soccer team (3-4, 2-1 CSAC) carried over its offensive outburst from Wednesday evening into its third consecutive conference match on Saturday afternoon at Clarks Summit (3-4, 2-1 CSAC). Coming off a hat-trick performance,
Averee Radonovich scored her fourth goal of the year and teammate
Kayla Grube added to her team-high in the 4-6 defeat.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Defenders got out in front of the Gators 20 minutes into the half to seize a 1-0 lead.
- After a second score pushed their lead to 2-0, Emma Alascia got the Gators on the board with her fourth score this season.
- Clarks Summit took a 4-1 lead into the half but in the second half, the tale shifted in NDMU's favor.
- Roselynn Kamara bolstered the Gators' attack with a timely pass to Grube for a score. Notre Dame would draw within two, down 4-2.
- Kamara took a shot of her own five minutes later in the 63 minute to bring the Gators within one.
- NDMU allowed two scores in the second and a late goal from Radonovich would set the score at 6-4.
OF NOTE
- Grube leads the way for the Gators offense with six goals this far. She is the team points leader with 15. Alascia is second with nine points through seven games.
- 10 of 13 shots from Notre Dame were on target. The Defenders out shot the Gators 19-13.
- Jamie Norris was responsible for six stops in goal.
- Kamara scored her first career goal in her best outing yet.
