ROSEMONT, Pa. – The Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) is proud to announce that Sweet Briar College has been accepted as an associate member in both field hockey and women's lacrosse for the 2021-22 season.
"The CSAC is proud to add Sweet Briar as an associate member in field hockey and women's lacrosse," said Dr. Allen Snook, Interim CSAC Commissioner. "The Vixens will be a valued member of our conference and we look forward to competing with them."
Sweet Briar, currently member of the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC), will join Bryn Athyn College, Cedar Crest College, Centenary University, Keystone College, Lancaster Bible College, Notre Dame of Maryland and Wilson College as participating members in field hockey, while the Vixens will join Bryn Athyn College, Cedar Crest College, Centenary University, Keystone College, Notre Dame of Maryland University and Wilson College as participating members in women's lacrosse.
"Sweet Briar College field hockey and lacrosse teams are looking forward to competing in the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC). The CSAC is composed of institutions like Sweet Briar and should yield exciting, new rivalries," said Jodi Canfield, Sweet Briar Director of Athletics.
The Vixens will be immediately eligible for All-CSAC awards and the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA tournament in both sports.
"This conference affiliation gives these student-athletes the opportunity for competitive opportunities that can lead to post-season tournament play as well as conference recognition for individual successes athletically and academically. We would like to thank CSAC Interim Commissioner Allen Snook and the CSAC presidents for the expediency of this process," Canfield added.
Sweet Briar, located in Sweet Briar, Virginia, is a women's only college and sponsors ten varsity sports.
