BALTIMORE – The Notre Dame (Md.) volleyball team (2-4) downed Hood College (1-4) in a clean sweep on Tuesday evening 3-0 (25-23, 25-22, 25-23) to secure its second straight win. The Gators and Blazers traded blows after two sets but it was NDMU up 2-0 heading into the third set. On a perfect setup from Natalie Newton tied 23 all in the third, freshman Emma Mueller delivered a kill to put Notre Dame up 24-23. With all eyes on her, Junior Stephanie Morgan spiked home a service ace to bring the win home for the Gators.
"Our team showed a lot of growth tonight," Head Coach
Henry DeTitta said. "They fought hard against a good team with some strong hitters. Hood really made us work for each game but the girls pulled together and worked well as a team. They fought through some high-pressure situations in close games. Really proud of them tonight."
HOW IT HAPPENED

Freshman Ciarra Bockstie had herself a day, sporting seven kills in addition to a block.

Mueller tied teammate Bockstie with seven kills of her own. Jade Stewart was right behind the two with six.

Stewart and Mueller connected for the winner in set two with Mueller producing seven assists on the evening.

Newton led the Gators with 10 assists.

Stewart, Angel Carino, and Paulina Hernandez were consistent in the backend combining for 51 digs.

- Seven different Gators registered a kill in the win.

The Gators held the advantage with four blocks to one from the Blazers.
