Gators Roll Past Saint Elizabeth University 4-0 In Conference Opener

BALTIMORE – Notre Dame of Maryland University's soccer team made quick work of the visiting Saint Elizabeth University Eagles (0-4-0, 0-1 CSAC) on Saturday evening on the heels of traffic passing and set-piece mastery from Sara Morales. The Gators seized the 4-0 victory and will improve to (2-3-0, 1-0 CSAC).

"Today was a good start to conference play," Head Coach Michele Rodriguez-Smith said. "It's always good when your goals come from three different players. I was very happy with the performance of our defense and our goalkeepers."

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • 15 minutes into the first half Morales delivered a long through ball for Emma Alascia to put in the back of the net with a one-touch left-footed score. Notre Dame (Md.) would take a 1-0 lead.
  • Two minutes later playing on the right-wing, Roselynn Kamara fed Kayla Grube with a strike to give her goal number one on the evening.
  • Grube broke free on a pass from Morales at the midfield to score her second goal.
  • Up 3-0 with just over 43 minutes of play, Morales found the back of the far right post on a 32-yard free-kick.

OF NOTE
  • Julie Mullaney and Atarsia Norris combined for the clean sheet playing over 40 minutes each. Mullaney had two saves while Norris added three in clean duty.
  • The Gators outshot the Eagles 15-7. NDMU had 10 shots on target to Saint Elizabeth's five.
  • Notre Dame (Md.) takes a 2-0 all-time series lead over Saint Elizabeth University.
