Gators Trump Second Straight CSAC Opponent

BALTIMORE – Notre Dame of Maryland University's soccer team improves to (3-3-0, 2-0 CSAC) after traveling down to Phoenixville, Pennsylvania to lay a 16-0 beat down on conference foe University of Valley Forge (0-5-0, 0-2 CSAC) on Wednesday evening. Averee Radonovich's hat-trick highlighted a seamless offensive showing from the Gators. Five other Gators scored twice in the win including Kayla Grube who had her second straight multi-goal game after being named to the CSAC Weekly Honor Roll earlier this week.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Radonovich got the scoring going early for the Gators with a score that found the high left post three minutes into the game.
  • Chelsea Llivichuzca would add on to Notre Dame's lead, scoring her first career goal to give NDMU a 2-0 lead.
  • Livichuzca and six other Gators scored for the first time this season. She posted two assists in the win.
  • Sara Morales and Grube added two goals in the 18th minute and from then on the goals started to pour for the Gators.
  • Cesia Diaz scored two goals in the half before Andreina Franco-Ramos added a seventh goal to push NDMU lead to 7-0.
  • Notre Dame (Md.) would go on to add nine goals in the second half to bring home the win.
  • The 16-0 win ties the record for the most lopsided win in Gators history. Previous best came on Sept. 13 in 2001 against Wilson College.

OF NOTE

  • Grube has five goals on the year, leading all Gators. She added three assists in the win for a claim at next week's Weekly Honors.
  • In her first ever start in the goal,  Atarsia Norris left the field with a clean sheet to her name.
  • Notre Dame (Md.) attempted a staggering 51 shots to just three from the Patriots.
  • The Gators hole the edge in the series 5-0. NDMU's last win against the Patriots was also a double-digit win 12-0 in 2015.
