MORRISTOWN, N.J. –
Paulina Hernandez set a new season high with nine kills, and
Emma Mueller supplied four kills, six aces, 10 assists and six digs to help Notre Dame of Maryland University volleyball begin Colonial States Athletic Conference play with a 3-0 victory at Saint Elizabeth on Saturday. Set scores were 25-13, 25-16, 25-12.
Candace Forgach-Aguilar added a team high 12 digs for the Gators (7-6, 1-0 CSAC) in their fifth-consecutive victory, while
Mackenzie Snodgrass chipped in three aces. NDMU has won all 15 sets during its current winning streak.
The Gators finished with a 14-4 edge in aces while limiting the Eagles (3-9, 0-1 CSAC) to a team attack percentage of -.165. Mueller's six aces were a new season best; Hernandez and
Natalie Newton also contributed a pair of aces on the service line.
Hernandez, who has spent most of the season in a defensive role, had each of NDMU's final five kills in the match. She teamed with
Gabbi Taganas for a match-clinching block in the third set.
Taganas had four kills overall, while
Ciarra Bockstie added three kills and a pair of blocks. Forgach-Aguilar reached double digits in digs for a third time this season.
NDMU is back at MBK Sports Complex for its next two contests, beginning with a 7 p.m. matchup against Valley Forge on Wednesday.
