BALTIMORE – Gabbi Taganas hit .357 with seven kills on her Senior Night, helping Notre Dame of Maryland University return to the win column with a 3-0 sweep over Cheyney on Thursday. Set scores were 25-14, 25-9, 25-20.

The Gators improved to 15-7 on the year with their 13th win in the past 14 matches. Candace Forgach-Aguilar added a career-high eight aces, the most by an NDMU student-athlete this season, while Jade Stewart recorded 10 kills and 13 digs.

Taganas, the lone senior on this year's roster, hit over .300 for an eighth time this fall after being recognized in a pregame ceremony. She also managed one block, one ace and a pair of digs.

Seven of Forgach-Aguilar's eight aces came during a dominant 15-0 run in the second set, as the home side turned an 8-7 deficit into a 22-8 lead. The Gators ended the contest with a 16-2 advantage in aces from the service line.

Emma Mueller contributed a team-high 17 assists, six kills and three aces in the victory, and Paulina Hernandez chipped in two aces and a team best 16 digs. Ciarra Bockstie (6) and Rosemary O'Brien (5) both hit over .200 while adding a combined 11 kills offensively.

NDMU closes out the regular season with a 1 p.m. matchup at Clarks Summit on Saturday. The Gators will then host a Colonial States Athletic Conference semifinal at 7 p.m. next Thursday.
