BALTIMORE, MD – The Colonial States Athletic Conference has announced
Sara Morales and
Jade Stewart as this week's Player and Defensive Player of the week. The pair combined for 15 of Notre Dame's 19 goals in Friday's 19-6 victory against Marian University. Morales was awarded CSAC Player of the Week for the second time in her career (3/9/20).
Morales had herself a career day scoring, she posted her best scoring performance since scoring seven goals against Keystone last season (3/27). She posted a game-high 10 points on eight goals and two assists. She led the Gators at the circle with 8 draw controls and caused four turnovers in addition to scooping up six ground balls.
Two-sport freshman Jade Stewart made a splash on both sides of the field for the Gators in her collegiate debate. Stewart's seven goals in the season opener are the most goals by a freshman in program history. In earning the Defensive Player of the Week, Stewart corralled 11 ground balls and caused six turnovers. She ended the evening with nine points on seven goals and two assists.
