BALTIMORE, MD – The Notre Dame of Maryland lacrosse team played its second contest in three days defeating the New England (2-3, 0-1 NECC) 20-13 with four Gators posting hat-tricks in the win. The Gators win came after suffering the first loss of the season on the road at Bryn Mawr (5-1, 0-0 Central Conference) 18-4. Notre Dame will prepare for a showdown at Marymount (7-1, 0-0 Atlantic East).
HOW IT HAPPENED: New England
- Sara Morales got the Gators on the board three minutes into the game with an unassisted score weaving through the defense. She went on to match her career-best eight goals in the win after scoring seven in the first half. She led her team with three caused turnovers.
- Notre Dame's next two goals came from Jade Stewart. Stewart had a hat-trick at the half and ended the game with four goals along with four assists. She led the team with seven possessions won from draw controls and was 3-for-5 on free-position shots.
- Brooke Siebert extended Notre Dame's lead to 8-3 off a free-position shot. She was 2-for-2 on free position shots and added four more goals in the second half, ending the game with five scores. Siebert won six draw controls and caused two turnovers.
- Hannah Mullaney joined Siebert in putting the Pilgrims away late in the second half. She scored three goals in the second and added two assists to the stat sheet. She won two draws in addition to forcing a turnover for the Gators.
- Emma Alascia and Anna Choudhary each caused two turnovers for the Gators defense.
HOW IT HAPPENED: Bryn Mawr
- Notre Dame took the early lead on a feed from Stewart to Siebert. Morales extended the Gators lead to 2-0 on an unassisted score.
- Bryn Mawr kept the Gators off the board for the remainder of the half to take a 12-2 lead.
- Morales added two more goals. Choudhary was credited with the assist on the last Gator score.
