Gators Fall to 2-2 with Loss at Marymount

BALTIMORE, MD – The Notre Dame of Maryland lacrosse team (2-2, 0-0 CSAC) took a trip down to Virginia for a midweek showdown with Marymount (8-1, 0-0 Atlantic East). NDMU suffered a 22-9 defeat despite getting off to a strong start against Division III No. 10 ranked scoring offense.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Sara Morales and Jade Stewart connected on two straight possessions to give Notre Dame an early 2-0 advantage.
  • The Saints went on to score seven unanswered to go up 7-2. Stewart recorded her third assist on the day, finding Morales for a third time. 
  • In the second period, the Gators outscored Marymount 4-2. Notre Dame got two scores from Brooke Siebert while Morales added one more to her name. Siebert had five draw controls in the loss.
  • Morales kept her team in the game, winning 11 draw controls for Notre Dame. She scored seven goals on the evening and now has 26 on the year. 
  • Stewart was credited with four assists, two ground balls, and three draw controls. 

OF NOTE
  • Morales currently ranks No. 3 in Division III for goals per game (6.33) and leads the CSAC with 26.
  • Stewart has 22 points off 11 goals and 11 assists. She leads the Gators in assists.
  • Sarah Generoso had a game-high eight saves. The freshman has 33 saves through four games. 
  • Notre Dame falls to 6-0 all-time against Marymount.
