Notre Dame Clinch Top Two Seed With 18-5 Win at Sweet Briar

BALTIMORE, MD – The Notre Dame of Maryland lacrosse team (6-5, 4-1 CSAC) returned to conference play with a runaway victory over Sweet Briar College (5-6, 2-3 CSAC) on Saturday to secure the No. 2 seed in the CSAC playoffs. The defending champions will wrap up the season this Saturday, April 30 while honoring our five graduating seniors ahead of the postseason. 

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • NDMU got off to a 6-0 run to start the first period, leaving Sweet Briar in a big hole just 15 minutes into the contest.
  • Notre Dame's top three scorers all touched a new milestone on the season in the period. Jade Stewart started the goal scoring with her 30th on the year.
  • Brooke Siebert sandwiched her 40th in between Sara Morales' 59th and 60th goals just seven minutes into the period. Morales captured hat-trick number 19 on the year with a third score in the first. 
  • Stewart rounded out the period with her second score on the day. She went on to the game-high (6) with Morales. 
  • Sweet Briar played the Gators to a 2-2 draw in the second. Sarah Generoso and Siebert each had a score in the second. 
  • Morales added three more scores in the third and Siebert captured her 8th hat-trick of the season, ending the day with three goals. 
  • Stewart went for four scores in the second half for her 6th hat-trick.
  • Generoso collected hat-trick number three with two more scores in the second.

OF NOTE
  • Averee Radonovich led the defense with three ground balls and two caused turnovers. 
  • Generoso and Stewart each had two caused turnovers.
  • Stewart is just five assists shy from tying the program single-season record (40).
  • Collette Hayes-Williams had six saves on 21 shots faced. 
  • Morales led the team with nine draw controls and Siebert had seven on the day.
