Gators Cruise to 20-13 Victory in CSAC Action

BALTIMORE, MD – The Notre Dame of Maryland lacrosse team (3-4, 1-1 CSAC) secured win number one in CSAC play, storming back to shut down Wilson (2-7, 1-1 CSAC) in the fourth. 

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Wilson started the ball game by scoring three unanswered by the Gators. 
  • NDMU got in on the action with 8:48 to go in the first on a pass from Jade Stewart to Sara Morales
  • Morales got in her second score a minute later to cut the lead down to 3-2.
  • After a goal from the Phoenix seconds later, Notre Dame went on to score four straight goals to take a 6-4 lead.
  • Morales had four goals by the end of the period and has now collected seven consecutive hat-tricks. 
  • Stewart had three assists and a score for four points after the first. She added a second score to start the second period. 
  • Stewart secured her third hat-trick to put NDMU up 9-5 on a pass from Cecia Zavala-Ramos.
  • With 10:55 remaining in the second, Sarah Generoso scored three straight goals. She recorded her first career hat-trick and went on to score a career-high five goals in the win. 
  • Wilson got within two scores down 13-11 with nine to play in the third but Brooke Siebert provided Gators hopeful some breathing room with a score from the top of the crease. 
  • Stewart was credited with the assist and ended the contest with a new personal best (7). 
  • Stewart and Brooke Siebert connected on three separate occasions. They both came away with four goals on the day.
  • In the fourth, Collette Hayes-Williams kept Wilson's offense at bay with four clutch saves allowing the Gators to pull away late. 

OF NOTE
  • Hayes-Williams posted a career day in goal with nine saves and the win.
  • Emma Alascia had three ground balls, three caused turnovers, and an assist. 
  • Morales led the Gators with five ground balls, Generoso had three, Siebert grabbed two, and Averee Radonovich had two. 
  • Stewart had a game-high 11 points to lead all. Morales came in second with 10 total.
  • Morales now has 41 goals to lead the CSAC and is just 14 goals shy of reaching the 100-goal milestone. She ranks No. 1 in points.
  • Stewart leads the conference at 22 assists and is third in points total (39).
  • Siebert is fifth amongst the conference goals leaders. She also won four draws and caused three turnovers. 
  • Notre Dame moves to 3-0 all-time against Wilson College.
