BALTIMORE – Five different players scored for Marymount University on Sunday afternoon, as the Saints spoiled the 2022 home opener for Notre Dame of Maryland University with a 5-0 shutout victory at Alumnae Field.
Makaylah Reyes made 10 saves for a second-straight game in goal for the Gators.
Anna Choudhary led the offense with two shots, while
Sara Morales also forced a save out of Marymount goalkeeper Hannah Mockenhaupt in the 34th minute.
Laney Placido opened the scoring for the Saints with an unassisted strike 1:29 into the contest, and she added an assist less than four minutes into the second half to make the score 3-0.
NDMU remains at Alumnae Field for its next matchup, as the Gators host Valley Forge in their Colonial States Athletic Conference opener at 1 p.m. on Saturday.
